UI/UX Guide and Map:
San Diego thrifting
In this UI/UX project, students were tasked with creating a map and guide-based app about a niche of our choice. As someone who loves sustainability and fashion, I chose to create an app where users could explore the various thrift shops centered in the Southern San Diego area.

My first step was to research the various thrift stores available in San Diego. Additionally, I would select which stores I believed would be most helpful for the users who I designed the app for, to which I created three main user personas to help guide my app.
I transferred my wireframe sketches into Figma, and further developed my app's identity and visuals profile - a retro/vintage homage to affordable thrifting.
Through this project, I fostered the skills needed to make an interface that can be easily understood by my intended user audiences. UI/UX is user-centered, so I was keen to pay attention to details that would impact my users' experiences and how they would ultimately feel about using the app. I prioritized designing for my user's intuition, ease, and accessibility - three elements of UI/UX that can inevitably decide whether or not a user will want to continue using an interface.

Based on these sources of inspiration, I want this app modeled with the themes of the 1970s. I was inspired by the earthy and expressive tones of this generation. This retro-inspired fashion-centered app will pay an homage to the vibrant and eclectic era that can be seen in a variety of thrift stores alike.
